Volunteer Program Descriptions
-This includes but is not limited to: Assisting with community garden builds in the Spring and Fall, Planting perennials, Constructing Fences, Arbors, Compost bins, pouring concrete, removing weeds, spreading mulch, Digging and shoveling, moving materials in wheelbarrows, kneeling, lifting, pruning, raking leaves, removing snow in winter, etc.
- Being a presenter or educational resource for our summer youth program or our free workshop series on growing, preparing and preserving food
-Distribution Volunteer- Assisting in the distribution of vegetable boxes at designated pick-up sites and interacting with people picking up their veggie boxes each week. Accept payment, share recipe tips, and track customers.(Long Term Opportunity)
- Substitute distribution volunteer- As needed, perfect for someone with a flexible availability
-Outreach opportunities available as well.
- Creating awareness and educating the public about VINES programming through- Tabling events, handing out flyers, posters, canvasing, community organizing. Outreach volunteering is available in multiple program areas.
-Urban Farm or CHOW workdays- Harvesting, packing shares, general farm chores or maintenance.
