PSRP (Para and Support Staff) Tech Training
JFT is looking for PSRPs (paras and support staff) who would like to learn more about technology. We have been funded through AFT's Innovation Grant to host tech trainings this summer for PSRPs and this fall for community members.
Details:
- PSRPs will be paid to attend a 3 hour tech training this summer.
- Trainings will be in person, held at the JFT Office at 2540 Severn, Suite 301, in Metairie.
- You do not need to bring a computer to this training.
- You MUST be a JFT member to attend this training.
Basic Training will include: 1) basic Chromebook functions, 2) Gmail, 3) Google Suite, 4) jpschools website practice, and other activities to hone your tech skills.
Intermediate Training will include: 1) Google Suite: Gmail (review), Google Meet, Google Sheets, Google Docs, 2) Clever, 3) real life practice on relevant professional websites, and 4) other tech tips to improve your abilities.
Logistics:
- Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with the date and time of your training(s).
- You may park on the street in front of the office or in the neighboring parking lot of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60.

Are you a PSRP? PSRPs are: paras, custodial staff, plant managers, anyone who is not on the teacher pay line. (For ex: school counselors, social workers, educational diagnosticians and teachers are NOT PSRPs.) This training is ONLY for PSRPs. If you are not a PSRP, thank you for your interest, but please do not continue forward with your registration.
