The Cal Poly Humboldt Entrepreneurs Club is excited to offer Cal Poly Humboldt's first StartUp Saturday ever and our first start-up event since COVID.
Our event will take place on Saturday, January 27 (8 am to 10 pm). Sign in will begin at 7:30 am. We will start off on Saturday with business pitches (those who want to pitch). Teams will form around the top pitches. The teams will then spend the rest of the day researching the pitched business idea, developing a lean canvas for the idea, creating a minimum viable product, meeting with mentors, prototyping and testing their idea, and pivoting as necessary. We will have speakers. mentors, and food throughout the day. The event will culminate with pitches to a judging panel.
You don't need to be a business major - in fact, different backgrounds strengthen teams.
You do not need to have a business idea to join - everyone will get on a team.
Pitches must be original ideas that you have put no prior work into, either in research or development.
Attendance all day Saturday is required to participate.
The team for StartUp Saturday is committed to making this event accessible to everyone. The venue includes an elevator for second floor access and audio/visual equipment that will amplify sound and project presentations/videos.
If you require accommodations or services to fully participate, please contact The Office of Student Life at osl@humboldt.edu prior to the event.
