2019 National Young Artists Summit Seeking Presenters and Performers
The NYAS Youth Planning Team is currently seeking proposals to present, perform, or share work at the 2019 National Young Artists Summit in Austin, Texas. Young Artists, ages 13-20, are encouraged to apply by Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 5pm EDT

This full-day Summit, entirely designed and led by young people, provides opportunities for young artists, ages 13-20, from a range of artistic disciplines, to connect, create, and celebrate. This summit is a program of the Creative Youth Development national movement.

Date: Saturday, November 2, 2019

Eligibility for submissions: Youth ages 13 - 20

Submission deadline: Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 5pm EDT

Notifications: Friday, August 30, 2019

Payment and Support: An honorarium will be given to each presenter and performer, as well as a travel support to the Summit.

2019 Summit Focus Areas
The 2019 Youth Planning Team is looking for presentations, performances, and similar that allow young artists from all over the world to connect, create, and celebrate with each other. We encourage submissions that examine the following topics:

Entrepreneurship
Activism
Artmaking
Youth Leadership
Disabilities
Language barriers
Power and Privilege
Citizenship
Gentrification
Trauma and Mental Health
Politics and Advocacy for the Arts


The NYAS Youth Planning Team also encourages proposals that supports any of the following goals:

Using arts and culture as a frame to approach social issues
Discussions about advocacy and politics in the arts
Highlighting local perspectives that can also be applied to other communities
Representation of diverse perspectives and populations
Collaborative practices with others
Accessible to all ways people cognitively and physically move through space
Challenging conventional thinking, and/or offer different points of view
Confronting barriers that do not allow young artists to be their full self
Understanding power, privilege, intersectionality; understanding where folks come from
Focuses that center languages other than English
Opportunities to network with other attendees
Providing practical advice or tips for young artists to take back to their workplaces.
