Recommendation letters that are most helpful are from adults (not family members!) who have observed you in a leadership role within the community, especially if there is a project that you have initiated. You may wish to have one of your two letter writers also comment on your French language abilities.

YOU contact your letter writers and have your letter writers email or mail the letter directly to the Joan of Arc Project, clearly labeled as Maid of Honor Letter of Recommendation for [Your Name]. Both your application and the two letters must be received by Nov. 15, 2025. 1)Leadership:  Please list your leadership experience.  Include name of organization or project, years you were involved, your title or role, and your accomplishments. This section is a concise list, not an essay. You can list a maximum of 5 leadership experiences, so carefully choose your best examples! We're looking for quality more than quantity in this list. (Were you an officer? Founder? Mentor? Supervisor? Were you in charge of any part of the work? Did you initiate the project? How many people did you oversee/manage/guide/mentor?)  

2) Please write an original essay in 300 words, to answer the following question: Describe a time that you, like Joan, believed in yourself and became a leader. How did you inspire others to action? What did you accomplish? Explain both your successes and failures in this leadership endeavor and how it affected and changed others and yourself. Explain any transformations that occurred and lessons learned.

3) Please write an original essay in 300 words, discussing your perspective on Joan of Arc. How have you learned about Joan? Have you read any books or watched media about Joan’s Life? If so what? How has Joan of Arc’s story inspired you? Do you think that Joan is an inspiring symbol of New Orleans? Why?
