The Movement for Memory series is a dance session based on body patterns that connect neurological processes with physical activity. There is a direct and quantifiable correlation between certain physical actions and improved brain function and memory, according to many research studies. In this low-intensity, interactive lesson for all people, all abilities and all ages, we will move as a group through facilitator-led relaxation, exercises, and expressive moments that support the brain-body connection. With material from the DanceAbility Method curriculum, participants will be encouraged to consider movement as a simple practice for clarity of mind. Jana Meszaros, Master DanceAbility Teacher, will lead. Jay Hall, Brain Dance ® practitioner will assist.
DanceAbility International is a non-profit mixed-abilities company that educates through inclusive classes, trainings and performances. The DanceAbility Method uses expressive movement as a tool to create community, physical engagement, and artistic inspiration for all people.
Jana Meszaros is a Master DanceAbility Teacher and works directly for DanceAbility International headquarters in Eugene, Oregon.
