Ahwatukee Youth Band - 2024
CONGRATULATIONS!!
You have been nominated by your Middle School Director to participate in this year's Ahwatukee Youth Band! 

Ahwatukee Youth Band (AYB) is a program of the Desert Vista HS Band Program.   Formed in 2010, this will be DVHS' 14th year hosting the Ahwatukee Youth Band and we are so excited to start up again!

The AYB is made up of select students from surrounding Middle Schools, and mentors from the Desert Vista Band program.  The purpose of the group is to give outstanding young musicians the opportunity to play great music side-by-side with top high school students.

DATES -
Rehearsals (all 3:00-4:30 pm):
1. Wed., Jan. 17
2. Wed., Jan. 24
3. Wed., Jan. 31
4. Wed., Feb. 07
Note: Rehearsal STARTS at 3:00 - arrive 10 minutes before!

(All rehearsals are held in the Desert Vista HS Band Room.)

Then... CONCERT DAY:
Friday, February 9 - (5:00-6:30 pm Dress Rehearsal and Pizza Dinner provided!)
- The Concert begins at 7:00 pm.  Free admission

Concert Dress:
- You will be given an Ahwatukee Youth Band t-shirt that we will use as our uniform.
- You will need to provide (and wear) black pants, black shoes & long black socks.

COST:
There is a $50 membership fee to help offset the cost of music, facilities, and instruction.  

Note: It is extremely important that you can attend ALL rehearsals and the concert.  Please do not complete the application unless you can make the full time commitment.
