Farm Crew (age 14-18)

Applications must be submitted by April 15th, 2019

What is the Longmont Cultiva Youth Project?
The Longmont Cultiva Youth Project is a youth leadership program in which youth ages 14-18 operate an urban organic farm, growing food for the Longmont community while developing leadership and job skills. As a member of the Farm Crew you’ll seed, tend and harvest organic produce for Growing Gardens’ Food Project, which provides fresh, healthy vegetables to community members in need. Throughout the summer, Farm Crew members deepen connections with our community by engaging in volunteer projects, and by gleaning and donating produce to local partners.

This is a great way to get hands-on job experience in an outdoor farm setting with a community of fun, respectful, hard-working people from all over Longmont! The Longmont Cultiva Youth Project farm is located at 950 Lashley St. in Longmont and is easily accessed by bike, bus, and by foot.

Goals of the Program:
-Teach leadership and life skills through group work and peer leadership activities
-Teach skills for healthy living such as cooking, and eating healthy organic produce, organic vegetable production and physical fitness.
-Help youth develop job skills through practical work experience
