UC-AFT Faculty Pre-Bargaining Questionnaire
Starting in spring 2019, our union will be negotiating a new contract with UC admin.  We have an opportunity to make important changes for ourselves, our students, and our campus communities.  Help shape your working conditions and our bargaining campaign by responding to the questions below.

Your answers will contribute to determining the issues, problems, and situations we should address together during collective bargaining.  This pre-launch questionnaire will be followed by a full bargaining survey in January 2019 through which UC-AFT members will set our campaign priorities.

What do you like about your job? Which aspects of your work bring you the most satisfaction?
What do you dislike about your job? Which aspects of your work cause you the most stress?
What changes to our working conditions (e.g., salaries, benefits, appointment lengths and percentages, instructional support, advancement and promotion, etc.) would generate more dignity and respect for lecturers and other non-tenure-track faculty?
What changes would make the most difference in improving your students’ education?  (These may or may not have to do with you personally and may be directly or indirectly related to our working conditions.)
What changes would be most beneficial for our entire campus community and for the University of California as a whole? (Think expansively.)
