MUSD Linked Learning Pathways to College and Career
When students love what they’re learning, they work harder, dream bigger, and learn more. Pathways offer students a personally relevant, wholly engaging, academically rigorous and career-based curriculum with real-world professions.
Four Core Components of Linked Learning
Rigorous Academics: CSU and UC approved A-G coursework including College Prep, Honors, and
Advanced Placement.

Real- World Technical Skills: Challenging career-based component of three or more courses (most A-G approved).

Work-Based Learning: Work-based learning opportunities beginning with mentoring and job shadowing and evolving into intensive internships, school-based enterprises, or virtual apprenticeships.

Personalized Support: Support services including counseling and supplemental instruction.
Expectations Contract:
If at the end of their 9th grade year a student has earned less than 40 credits (2 failed classes both semesters), and/or 2 quarters of unsatisfactory behavior, the student will be placed on probation. In addition to having satisfactory behavior, students must pass 5 out of their 6 classes. Of the 5 classes, 4 of them must be core classes; ie. Math, English, Science, Social Science. Students that do not meet these requirements will be put on probation that will begin in their 1st semester of 10th grade.

Progress will be reviewed at the end of the 1st quarter of 10th grade year. A recommendation for either student removal or continuation in the pathway program will be determined at the end of the 1st semester (10th grade year). At this point, a student may be removed from the program to enable their schedule to facilitate them to earn credit for graduation.

Satisfactory progress towards completion of graduation requirements will be reviewed at the end of their 10th grade year.

Eligibility for remaining in Pathway Programs is contingent on student’s satisfactory progress in both academic and behavioral expectations, as well as satisfactory progress towards meeting the MHS graduation requirements in a timely manner.
Academic Integrity:

At Montebello High School we believe that the school and home should work in partnership to teach the values of integrity, truth, personal accountability, and respect for the rights of others.

Cheating:

Students should understand that, among other things, cheating includes, communicating with another student during an exam, copying material during an exam, allowing another student to copy from their exam paper, , using unauthorized notes or devices, submitting falsified information for grading purposes, obtaining and supplying a copy and/or information about an exam without the knowledge and consent of the teacher, submitting a paper written by another student to copy an assignment, or taking home exams without the knowledge and consent of the instructor. Cheating here is defined as misrepresenting another’s work as one’s own.
