Thank you for your interest in joining Mill Creek Fire Company.
Volunteering with your local fire company is a wonderful way to serve your community. You will directly and indirectly help thousands of people each year who call 9-1-1 in their time of need. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to participate at all aspects of the volunteer fire service, including fire suppression, life-saving interventions, public education, vehicle maintenance, station upkeep, company operations, social media, public outreach, and much, much more. You will get out of your time with us what you put in, and we'd love to have you and whatever time and abilities you can provide.
Anyone under the age of 18 years old will be brought in as a junior member. Juniors can fully participate in the fire company the same as anyone else, with some notable exceptions (for safety and custody reasons). For example, juniors cannot drive company vehicles or enter a burning building. There are also curfews and report-card requirements for juniors still in school.
Our residency requirements have been relaxed over the years; anyone who lives in the state of Delaware is eligible to join.
