This event will be held on May 5, 2018 from 9:30am to 1:00 pm at the Veteran's Memorial Building, 2203 Central Ave., in Alameda, California.
Participants will learn about the California education system, engage with education leaders and legislators (including Assemblyman Rob Bonta and State Senator Nancy Skinner), and gain familiarity with the basics of advocacy. Our goal is to inform and empower parents and community members to make their voices heard!
This half-day conference tentatively includes:
- An overview of California's education system, led by Jeff Camp from Ed100- Opportunities to interact with legislators, such as Assemblyman Rob Bonta and State Senator Nancy Skinner- A panel featuring school board members from different districts- Interactive exercises focused on learning about the education system and getting involved with California politics- And more!
