You're invited to adopt a tree this Spring! If you have space at your residential or commercial property, Wood St. Collective invites you to plant a tree this Spring at no cost to you! Based in Englewood, our organization is committed to environmental efforts in multiple South and West Side neighborhoods.
Our tree planting window is
March 28th to May 28th, weekdays and weekends. Wood St. Collective will:
- Facilitate a tree planting volunteer event (max. two hours). We can do the work of planting the tree or offer expert leadership for you and your team, community, or family.
- Provide shovels, trees, mulch, soil, and protective tree tube(s).
- Send text reminders to water the tree during the summer.
Your participation means:
- Participating in the tree planting volunteer day
- Committing to water the tree at least 5 gallons of water a week during the summer for the next three - five summers. (We will offer an easy tool for this)
- A media release for the tree location to be listed in our "Plant 1,000 Tree Campaign" map of planted trees / social media posts.
Benefits of trees:
- Improve Chicago's urban canopy and beautify the neighborhood for present and future generations
- Clean the air, capture CO2, lower the temperature, increase shade, and reduce the "nose level" pollution.
- Prevent flooding

¡Te invitamos a adoptar un árbol esta primavera! Si tiene espacio en tu propiedad residencial o comercial, Wood St. Collective te invita a plantar un árbol esta primavera sin costo. Que se basa en Englewood, nuestra organización se dedica en los esfuerzos ambientales en varios vecindarios de Chicago.
Nuestro periodo de plantación de árboles es del 28 de marzo al 28 de mayo, entre semana y fines de semana. Wood St. Collective:
- Facilitará un evento voluntario de plantación de árboles (máximo dos horas). Podemos encargarnos de la plantación del árbol u ofrecer liderazgo experto para ti, tu equipo, tu comunidad o tu familia.
- Proporcionaremos palas, árboles, mantillo, tierra y tubos protectores para los árboles.
- Enviaremos recordatorios por mensaje de texto para regar el árbol durante el verano.
Tu participación significa:
- Participar en el día de voluntariado de plantación de árboles.
- Comprometerse a regar el árbol con al menos 19 litros de agua a la semana durante el verano, durante los próximos tres a cinco veranos. (Ofreceremos una herramienta sencilla para esto)
- Un comunicado de prensa para que la ubicación del árbol aparezca en nuestro mapa de árboles plantados y publicaciones en redes sociales de la "Campaña Planta 1000 Árboles".
Beneficios de los árboles:
- Mejoran la cubierta vegetal urbana de Chicago y embellecen el vecindario para las generaciones presentes y futuras.
- Purifican el aire, capturan CO2, bajan la temperatura, dan más sombra y reducen la contaminación superficial.
- Previenen inundaciones.
