***WAITLIST***WWHA Spring League Registration 2021

Spring League will run from Tuesday, April 6th to Thursday, April 29th. We’ll run 4 weeks of ice (8 sessions total) to play informal scrimmages 2 nights/week. There will be no referees and no timekeepers. Players and goalies will organize and make their own teams each ice time. Each player will be loaned a dark jersey and a light jersey, so you can suit up depending on which team you are on for a given game. Skaters will be capped at 30 players and there will be up to 4 goalies.

Skill Level *

Level 1 Players at this level are new to the sport, within the first few years of their adult hockey experience. They are still working to develop their skating, stopping, stick-handling and confidence to learn how to shoot. Level 1 players do not yet have a great sense of positioning on the ice. They are here for fun, to strengthen their skills, and to be part of the team!

Level 2 Players at this level should be relatively stable on their skates, have decent on-ice body control and are able to fully stop. They are beginning to understand positioning and the overall movement of the game, but might still need to be reminded at times. Players are getting more confident in carrying the puck, receiving a pass and taking a go at shooting.

Level 3 Players at this level would consider themselves to be in the lower half of the middle of the pack. These are players who might be getting back into the game after some time off the ice, or have been in the league for a few years and have witnessed their skills develop. Level 3 players are comfortable on their skates, they can make good passes and have solid body control. They are more confident in stick handle, and know their positioning on the ice

Level 4 Players at this level are in the higher end of the middle of the pack. They understand positioning and are able to predict the play and call for the pass. They can skate solidly, move the puck well, deliver passes and make the shot. Level 4 players can move relatively quickly on the ice and are able to stay with the flow of the game.

Level 5 Players at this level have been probably playing the game for a while. They are strong skaters and stick-handlers who can read the play. They can shoot accurately and are comfortable with a faster moving game. Level 5 players could/can assist in leadership roles within the team because they have a strong grasp of understand the rules and play of the game.

Level 6 Players at this level have been playing for years, they know the game and rules and their presence makes a big impact on the game’s outcome. These players may not have the speed they once had but they are still a top player and on everyone’s radar as a strong player to have on your team.

Level 7 Players at this level have likely played for a representative hockey team at one time (i.e., senior A, AA, AAA, university/college, etc.) They are confident and skillful in all aspects of the game and still have their speed. Level 7 players are those whose presence on the ice has a strong or major impact on the pace and flow of the game.
