Welcome to the SCCPTA Awards Application Portal! Every day, our local PTA units are the everyday superheroes of Seminole County—empowering students and families, advocating for positive change, and transforming schools into stronger, more connected communities. Your creativity, dedication, and commitment make a real difference, and these awards are our way of celebrating your heroic efforts. Applications are due by 11:59pm on March 8, 2026.

Categories

  • PTA Star Awards recognize PTAs that consistently shine bright through their achievements, active participation, and commitment to excellence and compliance throughout the year—proving that steady dedication is its own kind of superpower. Each local unit can earn up to 13 PTA Stars for the 2025-26 school year.
  • Program Awards celebrate the superheroes of action—PTAs that empower their school communities through creative, impactful programs that uplift students and families. There are three different award categories and each local unit can submit an application for up to 10 programs in 1-3 award categories for each program. The program(s) must have taken place during the 2025-26 school year and must be executed prior to the application submission.
  • Local Unit Excellence Awards honor PTA/PTSA units that advocate with power and lead with heart, going above and beyond to strengthen connections, inspire engagement, and transform their schools for the better. There are six different award categories to celebrate the accomplishments of local units (note that one membership-related category does not require an application).
  • Special Recognition Awards shine a spotlight on the everyday heroes—individuals whose extraordinary dedication, advocacy, and spirit empower others and make a lasting difference within their PTA and community. There are six different awards to honor individuals making a difference in local units.
Requirements
  1. Current officer information must be on file.
  2. State and National portions of membership dues must be paid monthly as memberships are sold. 
  3. SCCPTA dues must be paid.
  4. Copy of the completed current audit must be on file with the Florida PTA office.
  5. Copy of the IRS 990 must be on file with the Florida PTA office.
  6. Bylaws must be current (reviewed and approved by Florida PTA within the past three years).
  7. Current insurance on file.
Instructions
  1. You may choose to submit one complete application covering all awards your unit is applying for, or submit multiple applications if you're not ready to complete all sections at once.
  2. Complete the basic contact info for your local unit.
  3. For PTA Star Awards, some are tracked by SCCPTA but you will have the opportunity to submit supporting information to apply for those requiring an application
  4. For Program Awards, you will have the opportunity to apply for up to 10 different programs and you can apply for 1-3 different awards per program.
  5. For Local Unit Awards, you will have the opportunity to apply for up to 5 different awards. One additional membership related award will be tracked by SCCPTA.
  6. For Special Recognition Awards, you will have the opportunity to apply for up to 6 different awards.
  7. In the narrative sections of your award application, please do not list the name of your local unit, school, or specific individuals. This will allow for objectivity and anonymity in the judging process. 
  8. For certain award categories, you will have the opportunity to submit additional information (promotional materials, photos, etc.). Whenever possible, please avoid submitting materials/photos that identify your unit/school (i.e., signs, logos, t-shirts, etc.). If necessary, this information can be blacked out. Support materials must be emailed to awards@sccpta.com by the application deadline to be considered. Please email materials for each award separately and include the subject line as directed in the application.
