Spencer-Penn Summer Camp Registration
Thank you for selecting Spencer-Penn’s summer camp for your student, a separate form must be completed for each student you are registering. Class sizes are limited and filled on a first come, first serve basis. Minimum number to hold a class is 3 or 4 students. Once registrations are received by the Centre you will be notified by email with a summary of classes, amount owed, and a PayPal link to complete the payment process. If you wish to pay by phone or in person, the Centre is open Monday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm. Payment must be received within one week of registration to ensure your students' participation. Children confirmed for morning and afternoon classes on the same days will be able to stay for lunch with our summer camp facilitator and participate in activities between camps.

                                                              Class Description - JUNE
 
June 12 - 15: 9 a.m. to Noon; SPORTS with Houston Stutz  $55/members $60/non-members    
Students will engage in an introduction to a different sport each day, learning the rules and aspects to each one.  (ages 5 and up)

Play with adoptable puppies and/or kittens and complete multiple crafts while learning about pet safety and pet care. (ages 6 to 9)

June 13 - 14: 1 to 4 p.m.; ART LIKE VAN GOGH with Wenn Harold  $25/members $30/non-members
(ages 8 and up)

June 15: 1 - 4pm; A SUMMER WALK with DRBA $10/members $15/non-members
Students will explore the environment on this interpretive walk around the Centre property. We will look for wildlife such as pollinators, butterflies, and birds and talk about their interaction with the environment. Students will participate in related artwork and make dirt babies to take home. (ages 6 - 10)

June 19 - 20: 1 - 4 p.m.; FROM FREEDOM TO FAYETTE: OUR LOCAL AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY with DeShanta Hairston $25/members $30/non-members
Get to know local African American leaders, while exploring local African American history as students honor Juneteenth with the Executive Director of FAHI (ages 10-14)

*FULL* June 21: 1 – 4 p.m. SLIME TIME with Dreama Foley $10/members $15/non-members
What is more fun than making slime? Being able to eat slime! We will make edible slime, fluffy slime and confetti slime. Let's get messy! (ages 5 and up)

 Come travel with us to learn different crafts, snacks and games from around the world. We will travel to all seven continents to learn different things about each one. (ages 5 and up)

June 26 - 29: 9 a.m. to Noon; LEARN TO SIGN with Kelly Schaller $55/members $60/non-members
Learn basic sign language while enjoying songs, games, and more. (ages 7 to 10)

June 26-29: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; INTRO TO GUITAR AND MUSIC with Sean Weatheralt $55/members $60/non-members (ages 8 to 12)

*FULL* July 10: 9 a.m. to Noon; STEM with Brian Hairston  $10/members $15/non-members    
STEM Camp is for those who are looking to have positive, hands-on experience with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content. The curriculum focuses on authentic investigations in real STEM settings as well as daily computer programming experience through robotics. (ages 8 and up)

July 11: 9 a.m. to Noon; NATURE PRINT with Wenn Harold $10/members $15/non-members
Create beautiful art using natural items, like potatoes, leaves, and more. (ages 5 to 8)

July 11, 18, 25: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; CERAMICS with Wenn Harold $40/members $45/non-members
Students will create their own ceramic art that will be fired in a kiln and then painted by each student before being taken home to enjoy. (ages 8 and up)

*FULL* July 12: 9 a.m. to Noon; LET'S TIE DYE IT with Dreama Foley $10/members $15/non-members
This fun craft has been around for decades, but with this camp we will put a few spins on it. We will create a shirt along with wall art and a bookmark. If you love to be creative, this camp is for you. (ages 7 and up)
*Students must include t-shirt size in registration for one to be provided.

Calling all miniature golf fans, let's create our own course. Using items found at home we will create a nine hole course together, then play a couple of rounds. Take home the items from the hole you create plus fun ideas. (ages 5 and up)

July 13: 9 a.m. to Noon; WHERE DOES YOUR FOOD COME FROM? with Melanie Barrow $10/members $15/non-members 
Learn all about soil, dissect flowers, discover the difference between fruits and vegetables, and create some yummy snacks all at the same time. (ages 5 and up)

July 13: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; WHAT'S IN YOUR WATERSHED with DRBA $10/members $15/non-members
Students will learn how pollution impacts rivers and streams, microinvertebrates, and test water quality, along with creating Brown Trout models to take home. (ages 8 to 12)

 July 17 - 20: 9 a.m. to Noon; LEGO MASTERPIECES with Wenn Harold $55/members and $60/non-members
(ages 5 and up)

*FULL* July 17: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; 3D DESIGN AND PRINTING with Duncan Monroe $10/members and $15/non-members
Students will be introducted to the world of 3D Printing from the owner of the 3D Print Shop in Uptown. Each student will design and print their own item to take home with them. (ages 8 and up)

July 19 - 20: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ART LIKE PICASSO with Wenn Harold  $25/members $30/non-members
(ages 8 and up)

July 24 - 27: 9 a.m. to Noon; CONFIDENCE THROUGH MARTIAL ARTS with Ayla Nunnehi $55/members and $60/non-members
Gain confidence, improve coordination, learn simple self-defense and more with this introduction to martial arts. On the last day, students will even have an opportunity to participate in board breaking. (ages 8 and up)

I understand and acknowledge that I am fully aware of and assume any risks (including but not limited to the risk of serious bodily injury, property loss or damage) of (1) said minor child's participation in recreational activities at the camp and (2) his/her use of the supplies (tools). I recognize my responsibility to ensure that said minor child participates only in those activities for which he/she has the required skills, qualifications, training, and physical conditioning. I understand that Spencer-Penn Centre shall have no responsibility to pay for medical treatment and related costs if said minor child is injured. Knowing the risks described above, I agree, personally and on behalf of the minor child named above, to assume all the risks and responsibilities surrounding my child's use of the Centre and the supplies (tools). To the fullest extent allowed by law, I hold harmless and agree to indemnify Spencer-Penn Centre, its officers, directors, faculty, staff, volunteers, instructors, employees and agents, from and against any present or future claim, cause of action, loss or liability for injury to person or property, which said minor child may suffer or for which said minor child may be liable to any other person from any cause whatsoever, and regardless of fault.
