Accessible Juneteenth 2024 Open Mic Sign Up

Disabled People of Color Coalition (DPOCC) and the Disability Cultural  Center (DCC) present...

Come and celebrate our fourth #AccessibleJuneteenth, on June 18th at 4pm - 7:30pm where we celebrate the black disability community and the victories we have accomplished! We want to make Juneteenth a fun and vital accessible experience for all, including disabled people in the African Diaspora. The theme for the 4th Annual Accessible Juneteenth celebration is Black National Anthems. Welcome to the Open Mic Sign Up form!

We encourage and center creatives who identify with the African Diaspora and the D/disabled community, and or would like to share creative work addressing the role of ableism in their life.

All forms of artistic expression, and interpretations of the theme are welcome at this event.

Open Mic performances will be outdoors in the UIC Quad from 5:30pm - 6:00pm CST.

Performers will be given time for one song/poem/dance up to 3 minutes.

Performers will have access to one mic and seating while they perform.

We ask that participants use this form to sign up so that we can best accommodate their performance requests.

SIGN UPS CLOSE when we reach sign up capacity or at 5pm CST the day of the event, whichever comes first. Don't wait to sign up, reserve your spot in the open mic today!
