We’re thrilled that you’re considering camping with the Jail
of Hedone. As one of Black Rock City’s most vibrant and indulgent communities,
we receive inquiries from across the globe and carefully select new members to
ensure a great fit for everyone. Our camp is more than just a place to
stay—it’s a family built on creativity, participation, and shared experiences,
both on and off the playa.
Founded by a passionate crew of hedonists, the Jail of Hedone thrives on group collaboration. We require active participation before and
during Burning Man to make our camp a magical space for all. With this in mind,
campers must arrive on playa no later than the Tuesday before Labor Day and
stay through camp teardown that weekend. This commitment ensures that every
member contributes to our community’s success.
Traditionally, new Hedonites are sponsored by current camp
members or attend at least three pre-playa workdays to meet the team and become
part of our community (in person or virtual). However, in the spirit of inclusion, we welcome new
faces each year who share our values and enthusiasm for creating an
unforgettable experience.
If you know any current Hedonites, please ask them to
sponsor you—no need to fill out this form. If you’re new to our crew, please
complete the form below so we can get to know you better.
Camp Dues
Camp dues range from $500-700 per person,
depending on how soon you apply, get accepted, and join. These dues help cover
shared infrastructure, activities, and resources. Please note that all
campers are responsible for their own ticket, transportation, accommodations
(tent/RV), and food.
We’d also love for you to stop by during Burning Man!
Whether or not you join us as a camper this year, feel free to visit the Jail
of Hedone on playa—spin the Wheel of Indulgence and immerse yourself in our
world of guilty pleasures.
We can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make this Burn
unforgettable together.
