The Active Vista Human Rights Festival (AVHRF) is an annual event celebrating rights, freedoms, and dignity. Active Vista brings attention to stories of human struggles through a plethora of films, art exhibitions, and performances aimed at engaging the public in conversations on important social issues toward developing a critical citizenry that supports initiatives for the promotion of human rights and democracy in the Philippines.
The festival is held yearly on the week of the commemoration of the Martial Law Anniversary in the Philippines. The 13th edition of the festival shall be held on September 19-28, 2025 with the main festival held in Metro Manila and the satellite festivals simultaneously happening in seven key regional areas nationwide. With the theme TRESE (Unlucky Number 13), we call on audiences to look deeper into the seemingly unseen forces that shape our lives: not supernatural beings, but systems of oppression that haunt our everyday realities.
