A solo exhibition by Erica Wee, presented by Sound of Art
A self-taught artist, Erica Wee works mainly with Acrylic and Oil. Representational and figurative, Erica’s art captures the realistic nature of her subjects, interjected with an abstract touch - so they are traditional, yet styled with a daring modern slant; realistic, yet juxtaposed with a dramatic edge. The results are bold, uplifting “statement artworks” on huge canvases which are as energetic and vivacious as the artist herself.
RE/EMERGENCE is Erica’s first solo exhibition and of great significance in her journey as an artist. Having lived away from her home of Singapore for the past 15 years and only just returned last year, the exhibition marks her re-emergence on the Singapore art scene. What she has achieved and how her art has matured from living abroad is just the beginning. This exhibition pays homage to her journey since picking up the brush and coming into her own.
