Hi to all our Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto Families,

We have an extraordinary community at Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto. Because of this amazing community the PTA can do a great job to support our school through a variety of events, activities, practical support and fundraising. This year we want to focus on community events that bring our families together & encourages fun.

We have around 350+ families in the school, if everyone could find a small way of giving a little of their time and energy to help, the success and support that the PTA offers the school could be even more amazing, and shared by so many.

TWILIGHT FAIR Friday 20th March 2020 Helpers            
Our biennial Twilight Fair is being held on the 20th of March this year. It is a chance for the community to get together, have some fun, play some games, watch some performers, eat a delicious dinner and make some money for the school. It is a huge undertaking and a committee is busily setting up all the events and entertainment, but we can't do it by ourselves!! That is where you come in. If everyone does a little bit this years fair will be bigger and better than ever!  Please click on the link to complete the Fair helpers Questionnaire below or indicate in the answer field how would you like to help us with the Fair.

New families morning teas
Each term the PTA provide a morning tea for new families to the school. New Families can enjoy a morning tea and a chat with other new families.  We need helpers once each term to provide a little baking . Or host the morning tea and chat to the new families.
Pastoral Support
Do you enjoy cooking and feel you could be called on to cook a meal for a family who need it? From time to time, the PTA are asked by the school to provide pastoral support to a family (no names are given) who the school is aware might be going through some tough times, and a meal to put in the freezer or some baking to offer can make a difficult time just a little easier. To help in this way, we need a list of people who would be willing to be called on, with a few days notice, to provide a cooked meal or some baking.
School Disco Friday 26th June
Every year we host a disco for the students. This event is always looked forward to and very much enjoyed by adults and children. We will be looking for teams of adults for each of the disco hours , to sell yummy treats, and to show the kids some dance moves!

We along with the school council provide a hot breakfast for the kids.

Dads time
We would love for the Dads to get to know each other, last year the Dads had a fun afternoon out and we had lots of positive feedback. We would like to see if there would be interest for other opportunities for Dads to get together. We would be really keen to hear from the Dads about what fun activities you would like us to organize.
Quiz scheduled Saturday 12th September
Every year we host an event for the adults. This event is always looked forward to and very much enjoyed by those that attend. We will be looking for a team of adults to help on the night, help with set up &/or attend the quiz. Can you assist?

Top Team challenge Term 4, no date set yet
Top Team Challenge is a great way to bring people together. It is a fun, interactive activity for all ages and is designed to cater to all participant abilities and learning styles. The aim is to build confidence and encourage maximum participation while having fun.
