To reflect the breadth of the industry and the many contributions of booksellers and retailers there will be three awards to celebrate excellence in Australian retail over the 2025 calendar year. Please read the category descriptions and submit your nomination via this form.

Bookshop of the Year

This award recognises demonstrated excellence in an individual bricks-and-mortar bookshop in Australia over the course of the 2025 calendar year. Eligible bookshops may be standalone bookshops, or individual bookshops in chain or franchise groups with no more than three total locations.

Book Retailer of the Year

This award recognises an Australian-registered retailer that specialises in selling books as their primary product. It celebrates the book retailer that has demonstrated outstanding excellence and made significant contributions to the success of the industry during the 2025 calendar year.

Multicategory Retailer of the Year

This award recognises an Australian-registered retailer, company, or group of companies that sell books as part of a broader range of products. It celebrates the multi-category retailer that has demonstrated excellence and made a significant contribution to the success of the book industry during the 2025 calendar year.
