Livingston Virtual strongly recommends the student work 25-30 hours per week on coursework in order to stay on pace in all subjects. Failure to work consistently each week could lead to the student falling behind and even possibly failing courses. Attendance and time on task will be monitored closely by Livingston Virtual staff.

By clicking YES, I understand that the student will have mandatory days of attendance each week.  For high school students, mandatory attendance is required for any in-person and Zoom classes the student is taking; for high school students not enrolled in any in-person or Zoom classes, the mandatory attendance requirement is at least two consecutive hours per week. High school students may stay more than two hours per week and may be on campus more than one day per week.  For junior high school students, mandatory attendance is required for in-person and Zoom classes as well as weekly virtual office hours on Fridays with teachers.  Junior high school students may stay after classes on in-person class days for tests, make-up work, or tutoring.

Failure to report to campus will result in absences and loss of weekly participation points.  The student will be referred to Families In Need Of Services (FINS) if the student is habitually truant and fails to maintain steady academic progress due to missed instructional time in all coursework.  A student may also receive home visits from the School Resource Officer if the administration deems it is necessary for a welfare check on the student.

By clicking YES, I understand that failure to maintain steady academic progress due to missed instructional time in all course work could mean the student will be required to return to his/her home-based school at the beginning of the next grading period in order to fulfill academic and attendance requirements. (For High School students, a grading period is one full semester. For Middle School students, a grading period is a nine-weeks period.)

Livingston Virtual students will be issued a laptop and a charging cord for school work for the duration of the school year. The student is responsible for the condition of the laptop and charging cord when returning the items to Livingston Virtual. If the laptop or charging cord is not returned or is damaged in any way, the student will be required to pay for the equipment.

Internet service at home is required.  Does the student currently have access to reliable internet service in the home?

Livingston Virtual believes in building strong relationships between student and teachers, between student and student, and between teachers and parent/guardian in order to impact student success.

A high school student who falls behind in any coursework or whose overall course grade falls 70% or lower on any coursework in any subject must report to the campus daily until the student is on pace to complete the coursework by the target dates and has attained an overall grade of an 80% or higher on coursework.

By clicking YES, I understand arrangements must be made for the student to attend sessions at Livingston Virtual Monday-Thursday until staff at Livingston Virtual notifies me that the student is back on track and passing with an overall grade of 80% or higher. Failure to do so may lead to a recommendation for the student to return to the home-based campus at the beginning of the next semester or grading period.
*
Livingston Virtual REQUIRES Post/Unit tests and End of Semester exams to be taken on the campus of Livingston Virtual. All students must have consistent and reliable transportation services to and from the campus in order to take tests. Does the student have consistent and reliable transportation for testing purposes? *
Livingston Virtual requires each student to be a self-motivated learner, who is willing and able to sit and work at home engaged in completing coursework for 25-30 hours per week The student should also be respectful of all people encountered, care about his/her appearance, clean up after himself/herself, be punctual for appointments, follow attendance policy requirements, and maintain at least a "C" average in all coursework.

How do you think the student will handle this flexible, less-structured environment and adjust to limited contact with peers and teachers at school during the week?
*
Tell us more about why you feel that the student will be a good fit for Livingston Virtual. *
Is there anything else that Livingston Virtual needs to know regarding the student? Please make us aware of those concerns or issues in order for the administration and staff to provide the student with optimal learning conditions. *

Livingston Virtual is a blended program of in-person and online sessions as well as high quality instructional materials. Help and support are available from teachers and staff, but the student must self-advocate for himself/herself and what he/she needs in order to be successful.  The student is responsible for his/her learning and success in the program.

The Livingston Virtual Administration looks at the grades, test scores, behavior, and attendance of each applicant in order to make a determination on whether or not the blended program will be a good fit for the student. If the applicant is deemed a possible candidate for the program, the applicant and parent/guardian will be contacted to schedule an in-person interview.

The applicant and parent/guardian will then meet with the Livingston Virtual Administration to discuss the student's academic readiness for a blended in-person/online learning option as well as any other pertinent information considered necessary for the application to proceed to the next step in review process. The applicant's current home-based school administration, guidance counselors, etc. will be contacted for input on whether Livingston Virtual is a viable option for the applicant and his/her future academic success.

By clicking YES, I understand that the student and the parent/guardian will have a MANDATORY in-person meeting with the Livingston Virtual Administration at a date and time to be determined by Livingston Virtual. ENROLLMENT IN LIVINGSTON VIRTUAL IS NOT GUARANTEED.
