UNITY seeks to recruit twelve outstanding Native youth leaders between the ages of 18 to 24 to serve as Peer Guides for the three-year Tribal Youth Leadership Development Initiative.
UNITY is recruiting youth who have demonstrated leadership qualities and can be depended on to carry through with commitments and responsibilities.
Peer Guides will receive continual mentoring and training to support and prepare them to focus on delinquency prevention and juvenile justice issues in Indian Country and lead Native youth through a series of six regional gatherings and webinars. Those selected will serve as project advisors, peer trainers, and technical assistance for the implementation of youth-developed community service projects related to juvenile delinquency prevention and intervention issues for three years.
Nomination:To be considered for a place on the Peer Guide team, applicants must be nominated by someone who knows them well = such as family members, teachers/mentors, tribal/community leaders, employers - and will complete and submit the required nomination form by the deadline.
