Through completing the training staff will develop the skills and confidence to deliver healthy lifestyle messages and be able to signpost people to local services, as part of their day-to-day work.
By attending this training session, staff will:
- Get an understanding of what MECC is all about and the positive impact it can have on health and wellbeing
- learn a simple MECC technique to help people make healthier lifestyle changes
- be able to use interactions with people as an opportunity to identify an issue and encourage behaviour change
- receive information on signposting to other local services for support.
At the end of the training, staff will have the confidence to connect and have effective conversations about health and wellbeing, helping to make a difference to the lives of our local people.
The training will be delivered by NHS North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups
