The City is collecting input on a set of proposed updates for the village center zoning from September 1 through October 16, 2022. Zoning is important because it regulates how land in Newton can be developed and what kinds of new buildings are allowed. For example, zoning can influence šŖ storesā and businessā activity through š parking and density requirements, whether š± green space or šØ public spaces are required in new developments, or the amount of šļø housing supply near š public transportation.Ā
