PCMA Capital Chapter Call for Speakers

The PCMA Capital Chapter is excited to announce our 2024 Call for Speakers.

We have had fantastic engagement in 2023, and saw increased numbers across in-person and virtual programs, with a relatively even split between suppliers and planners. Virtual lunch and learn topics in 2023 covered data analytics, event design, and how successful leaders are powered by empathy. Our in-person events touched on topics including leveraging relationships, the state of the industry, and artificial intelligence, to name a few.

Our focus in 2024 will be on solving our members' challenges in the new year and beyond. These topics include:

  • AI and machine-based learning
  • Event Tech – Future Trends
  • Event Marketing and Promotion
  • Making Events More Accessible for All
  • Managing Your Budget and Rising Costs
  • Registration Rates
  • Risk Management
  • Staff Management/Remote Employees
  • The Art of Saying No
  • Time Management/Work-life Balance

Although this is a list of broad topics for each event, we are open to other ideas relevant to the meetings and events industry.  We encourage potential speakers to submit hot topics throughout the year and we will add additional Lunch and Learns when needed.

Our year will open with our first Lunch and Learn in February and continue with Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) on April 11, 2024, followed by a Spring, Summer and Fall in-person events in the DMV area.   Virtual Lunch & Learns are on deck for February, March, July, and December.

We will continue with tactical takeaways at our Virtual Lunch and Learns and focus on hands-on education for our Spark and Sparkler events. Our in-person events will be creative sessions to fit members' needs and work schedules.

In-person Event attendees include approximately a 50/50 split of event planners and suppliers, with Virtual Lunch and Learn with a 70/30 ratio of event planners and suppliers.  Speaking to the PCMA Capital Chapter audience is a great way to get in front of an audience looking for speakers at their events.  We expect 125-200 people in person to attend each event and about 50-100 attendees at each virtual Lunch & Learn.

With 2024 Planning underway, we encourage you to submit content or refer speakers as early as possible.
