Request for AS Review of Faculty Assigned to a Hiring Committee
The DEPARTMENT CHAIR responsible for the position being filled is also responsible for completing this form.

Please tell faculty interested in being on a hiring committee to contact whomever is recruiting for that hiring committee (dean, chair of hiring committee, department chair, other designee) for consideration.

The Academic Senate Committee on Committees will review this Request Form to ensure transparency of the selection process and will contact the department chair once its review is complete (within 10 days). The Academic Senate Executive Committee will keep a file of the names of those faculty assigned to hiring committees.

Title 5 information:
Title 5 53203 (f) The appointment of faculty members to serve on college or district committees, task forces, or other groups dealing with academic and professional matters, shall be made, after consultation with the chief executive officer or his or her designee, by the academic senate. Notwithstanding this Subsection, the collective bargaining representative may seek to appoint faculty members to committees, task forces, or other groups.
