YMCA Shoemaker Travel Fund Application
The Steve Shoemaker Travel Fund was established in 2008 to honor the years of leadership provided to the University YMCA by Steve Shoemaker. Steve retired in the summer of 2008 after serving as Executive Director of the Y for over 8 years. During his tenure, Steve noticed that students and staff often missed out on personal and professional development experiences due to financial limitations. This fund was established in his name to allow students the opportunity to travel to conferences and other events.

Eligibility: Applicants must be either (a) currently enrolled University of Illinois students who are active members of the University YMCA or (b) University YMCA staff.

Award amount: Awards vary by need and type of travel, but typical award range from $75 - 400.

If you have any questions, contact Kasey Umland, YMCA Program Director by email:kasey@universityymca.org, phone: 217.337.1514, or in person at the Y.
