Joining the CBAF board is a wonderful opportunity to impact the future of the arts in the Gunnison Valley, while also playing a critical role in sustaining one of Crested Butte's longest running cultural traditions.

We seek applicants from a broad range of backgrounds to help further our vision of uniting the Gunnison Valley through the transformative power of the arts. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Submit your interest application today!

The Crested Butte Society (DBA Crested Butte Arts Festival), is a registered 501(C)(3).
Festival proceed are reinvested back into Gunnison Valley creative communities through our Artistic Enrichment Grant fund.

Our Board typically meets for regular BOD meetings once a month (virtual attendance permissible). Can you commit to this monthly time requirement? *

As the CBAF Board is a 'working board', we ask that ALL members be present to volunteer on-site throughout the duration of the annual 3-day event. Are you able to commit to attending the event during the first weekend of August? *

Board member serve in leadership roles, "captaining" at least one aspect of the event. This involves working with our Executive Director to plan and execute specific event operations. Indicate which areas of the event/organization would be of most interest to you at this time? *

VIP House: Manages food & drink ammenity offered to VIP artists throughout the festival.

Art Alley Tent: Planning and developing interactive art projects for children and families to participate in during the fest.

Info / Merchandise Tent: Welcoming patrons, answering questions and selling merchandise.

Art Auction Tent: Tasked with the intake of donated art, displaying art in the tent, and assisting patrons with online bidding during the festival.

Beer & Wine Sales: Managing team of volunteer servers and coordinating donated beverage product with festival partners.

Sales Tax Collection: Ensures the accurate collection and accounting of sales tax from vendors at the end of the event. Requires high attention to detail in documenting tax remittances.

Venue Operations: Leads teams of volunteers marshaling Elk Avenue safety during the event. This role also entails managing our waste diversion program with our venue Green Team.

Fundraising / Development: Strategize with ED on growing our organizational donor base with the goal of increasing our local grant capacity.
