ASA 2019 39th Annual LobbyCon Registration
University students from across Arizona are given an opportunity to lobby state representatives about issues impacting higher education at the Arizona Students’ Association’s 39th annual Lobby Day. This is a 3 day conference from March 23-25, 2018 (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). On the first day we will begin our conference by giving a history lesson on ASA and having guest speakers who are alumni of ASA speak about their experience in the organization. Then on Sunday we will teach students how to lobby elected officials and educate students on bills ASA has been following, and lastly Monday will be the day we meet at the capitol and lobby state legislators from around Arizona.

"For over 40 years, ASA has been the voice of Arizona students by focusing on grassroots organizing, registering students to vote, lobbying for affordable higher education, and training and developing student leaders.

In the 1970’s, students in Arizona were working to get more of a voice on campus and more control over their education. To accomplish those objectives, the student body presidents of NAU, ASU, and UA established the Arizona Students’ Association in July of 1974. They knew they would be much more effective and powerful if they worked together, so alas a statewide lobbying association was born."
