Categories of Volunteer Work
  • Know Your Rights Presentations: organizations/individuals can sign up for an entire week to be responsible for conducting KYR at 1:00PM on-site the day the bus arrives (approximately 1 bus per week). Following that KYR, volunteers should stay on-site to answer questions and conduct smaller-group meetings regarding reporting to ICE and changing addresses. Total time commitment is approximately 1:00 - 4:00PM.

  • Monthly Follow-Up Legal Information Sessions: the last Thursday of every month, we will conduct an in-person follow-up legal information session in Philadelphia and surrounding counties for individuals remaining in Pennsylvania. The first session will be held Thursday, January 26 at 3:00PM. We will aim to provide information and match individuals with attorneys who can provide pro bono or low bono representation.

  • Interpretation/Translation: helping translate welcome packages into other languages and/or serving as interpreter for meetings, on-site or virtually.

  • Providing In-Person Space for monthly follow-up legal information sessions.

  • Printing and Delivering Welcome Packets to community based organizations and to the welcome site.

  • Pro Bono / Low Bono Representation of new arrivals in Pennsylvania.
