C19 Soundscape Documentation
We are documenting changes to the soundscape due to decreased human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have no immediate application for the data, but we will make an anonymized version available to researchers. We will try to continue the project indefinitely. While much of our work is local, we would like to invite contributions from people all over the world.

Needed supplies:
-Something to write on and write with
-Timepiece
-A-weighted sound pressure level (SPL) meter

Free SPL meters on iOS:
-NIOSH Sound Level Meter
-Decibel X
Free SPL meters on Android:
-Sound Meter Pro
-Sound Meter and Noise Detector
-SPL Meter

Methodology:
-Pick an outdoor location you'll be able to revisit during (and after) the pandemic - your porch or backyard is fine.
-Pick a day and time that you'll be able to return on a weekly basis.
-Note any unusual conditions (wind, rain, construction).
-Note the A-weighted sound pressure level once per minute for thirty minutes.
-Fill out the below form (printable version here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-JBUo9XQYE1KsNZpJGtT-R6I2HUudOBf).

Optional:
-Include links to media (field recordings, photographs or video) of your location.

Note:
-Your email address will only be used for follow-up questions.
-If you are uncomfortable with sharing your exact location, feel free to select a nearby location with a similar acoustic profile.

Please send feedback or questions to phonographyaustin@gmail.com.
