Any individual student enrolled in a middle school or high school in Michigan which is NOT a member of MIFA may become an Individual Affiliate of MIFA and become eligible to participate in MIFA events.

The parent or legal guardian of any student may seek access by paying the fee per student and by filling out the form attached. All individual events  are open to any individuals, but all team events are open only to individuals from the same non-member school. The fee is $25 per MIFA event.

The Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association sponsors speech activities in six general categories: debate, legislative debate, public forum debate, theatre, film festival and individual events. Individuals are encouraged to participate in all six of the general categories. We hold State Tournaments in eight categories: Novice Policy Debate (High School), Varsity Policy Debate (High School), Legislative Debate (both Novice and Varsity, High School), Theatre (High School), Individual Events (Both Middle Level and High School), Film Festival (High School) and Public Forum Debate (Both Middle Level and High School).

The membership fee is determined by action of the Forensic Council; fees are due on or before November 1.  New memberships will be accepted at any time.

A separate application should be filled out for each student.
