. We will be arranging transport to and from the venue, as well as all meals and snacks during the stay.
Who are we? We are Diaspora Alliance, a Jewish-led, international organisation working to build solidarity and coalitions with other diasporic and minoritised communities towards a future where Jews and all people can live freely. We promote just and democratic societies by combating antisemitism and its instrumentalisation.
The Summer School will be led by Carinne Luck, International Director of Diaspora Alliance. Carinne comes with over 20 years of experience as an organiser, trainer, and strategist. She will be joined by Sasha Josette, Co-founder and Director of Breathe, a grassroots climate justice organisation building strength and resistance in the face of the climate crisis, and an advisor to Diaspora Alliance. We will also be inviting additional speakers and trainers to lead us in other sessions. A full list will be announced closer to the training date.
What is our aim? We're hosting the Summer School as part of our work to nourish, encourage and support more progressive Jewish organising. We'll focus on skills-building, the tools needed for effective and transformative organising and campaigns, different frameworks for political struggle, and space to imagine and connect with other like-minded organisers and activists. Our hope is that you'll leave with new relationships and community and more confidence in your capacity to organise your people and mobilise into action if and as needed.
We welcome everyone but are particularly encouraging Jewish folks who identify as women, gender non-conforming, working-class Jews, Jewish of colour, Mizrahi & Sephardi and LGBTQ+.
Please complete the registration form by Tuesday 9th May, and we will get back to you to let you know if you have been accepted onto the Summer School.
