Welcome to Exercise Nightwalker. This is the second night navigation event Suffolk Search and Rescue have organised that the public can be involved in. We as a team wanted to make it an event that teams will enjoy, it is designed to be arduous so please do think about your fitness levels. The navigation side is also designed to be testing please do make sure all team members are able to navigate with OS style mapping, it will be pitch black and these skills will be essential.
The entry fee for the event is kept to a minimum and all event staff have given their own time to make this event work. Included in your entry fee is a cooked breakfast at event control after you have finished the event. It also covers insurances and hire of facilities. It is set at £15 per person (£60 for the team).
Any remaining funds will be donated to the Suffolk Lowland rescue account to help the organisation continue to operate throughout the year. Once registered we will send out instructions to pay and once payment is received we acknowledge and confirm your place.
Around 6 weeks before the event, Final Joining Instructions will be sent to you along with essential kit lists and directions.
TEAMS WILL BE ISSUED WITH A TURN UP TIME AFTER REGISTRATION (in the FJI's). PLEASE ARRIVE ON SITE AT THIS TIME.
CAR PARKING PASSES WILL BE ISSUED TO ALL TEAM MEMBERS PLUS ONE FOR TEAM SUPPORT.
NO ACCOMMODATION IS AVAILABLE AT THE EVENT BUT CAMPING IS PERMITTED IN THE LIMITED DESIGNATED AREAS. INFORMATION WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE FJI'S
NO OPEN FIRES.
NO GPS DEVICES OR MOBILE PHONES WILL BE USED TO AID IN NAVIGATION EMERGENCY MEDICAL COVER WILL BE PROVIDED.
TEAM PERSONNEL TO UNSURE THEY HAVE SUFFICIENT PERSONAL MEDICATION.
TEAMS WILL CARRY THE REQUIRED KIT DETAILED IN THE JOINING INSTRUCTIONS, AND ARE PREPARED TO SHOW IT ON REQUEST.
DURING THE EVENT TEAMS CANNOT CONTACT OR BE CONTACTED BY OUTSIDE PERSONNEL. UNLESS IN THE CASE OF EMERGENCY
NO TWO WAY RADIOS MAY BE USED
ALL TEAMS WILL REPORT TO EVENT CONTROL UPON FINISHING. EVEN IF TEAMS HAVE RETIRED
