Details:
The Walk will be supported with a drop-off and pick-up each day. At the end of the day walkers will mark the spot with their own personal wooden stake and start at that spot the next day.
There are six sections to the Walk that are approximately 30 km or 18 miles each. Walkers can choose to walk the entire distance of 184 km or walk whatever section they would like to enjoy. Walkers can do it solo, with a team or as a relay. The last 2 sections of the Walk will be done out of Tuk. Once on the Ice Road, participants will be self-supported an will need to bring all the necessary gear and food for a full day of walking outside.
On Thursday, the 13th April 2017 there will be a special celebration in Tuk to recognize the important role the Inuvik to Tuk Ice Road has played the last 40+ years.
This event is free of charge.
