DM 2017-2018 Sponsorship Chair Application
Dance Marathon is seeking Sponsorship Chair to oversee national and local corporate and business sponsorships (nonfood related). The Sponsorship Chair with work directly with the Finance Director and DM Exec Team to create and distribute the annual “Sponsorship Packet.” This person should have knowledge of advertising and marketing technique and ready to find innovative ways to utilize and showcase our sponsors throughout the year.

Responsibilities:
• Work specifically with Finance Director to create and distribute Sponsorship Packet to be used throughout the year during sales pitches.
• Promote and pitch sponsorship opportunities to business owners in the local, regional, and national arena.
• Research and reach out to new stores, apartment complexes, and businesses in the area surrounding FGCU.
• Keep record of all sponsorships and sponsorship contracts.

Requirements and Skills:
• Must be a registered, full-time FGCU student taking 9 credit hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Must currently have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in Spring of 2017 and throughout the 2017-2018 academic year.
• Be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
• Must be able to commit to this role for the entire year, including fall, spring, and until the next DM Executive Board and Chairpersons are selected.
• Must be fearless! You will be cold-calling and emailing business to set up meetings and pitch DM and our needs to them.
• Must not be afraid of rejection. People will say no and you must be able to let go of the “no’s” so you don’t miss the “yes’s”.
• Must be relentless. You will need to make sure you are continuously emailing and calling potential sponsors until you can have a conversation about why they should partner with DM.
• Must be a team player, but also must be willing to ask for help from your Finance Director and Executive Board when needed. This job is a big responsibility and if you need help, please do not be too proud to ask.
• Must be well organized and flexible.
• Must be able to take initiative and think outside the box.
• Must be FTK!
