SCHEDULE for our September progressive series (Wed Sept 4, 11, 18, 25):
7:00-8:00pm: Advanced Beginner Series
8:00-9:00pm: Beginner Series
9:00-10:00pm: Practica
LOCATION: Anderson Room ABCD in the Michigan Union
INSTRUCTOR: Matthew Keating
COST: $20 for the full 4-week series (You can pay when you arrive)
*Students in the advanced beginner must have first taken the beginner series. Advanced beginners are encouraged to retake the Beginner classes for FREE, to help us with new students and to sharpen your skills!
*We will also start a new series at the beginning of each month so if you cannot make it one month, please register for a future session.
*The series are progressive meaning each class builds upon the last. For this reason it is strongly encouraged to show up for every class.
Beginner Series:
The beginner series is open to those with no dance experience. We will learn the fundamentals of Tango, such as connection, walking, the embrace, the rock step, parallel and cross system, the cross, ochos, and the ocho cortado. We will also learn about dancing in a social setting, such as at a Practica or Milonga. We encourage those who have taken the beginner series to take it as many times as they'd like as having confidence with the basics helps with succeeding in learning more complicated movements.
Matthew Keating has been dancing for 13 years from Ann Arbor Beginnings and still loves it!
