Thank you for applying to be a part of the 2026 IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project performance! "Evolve" This year's performances will be held on Saturday, August 29th at the Willson Auditorium. Please review all required information and dates listed below before completing this application.
Please note, all choreographers and performers must be at least 18 years of age.
We are searching for a variety of styles and backgrounds to incorporate and bring together the originality that our local dance community is skilled at delivering. To help us with piece selection, we ask that you please submit one form for each dance you would like to choreograph for the 2026 show. **It is in your best interest to present clear and well-developed ideas, with as much detail as possible. The IndepenDANCE Show Committee will personally select all pieces and missing information may affect consideration of your concept.**
**Be prepared to include an example of your choreography as part of your application. We will need to see at least 30 seconds (approximately 6 counts of 8) of your actual style, to the song you plan to use, for the piece you intend to create.
If selected, we understand that certain items will develop and evolve as you go along. If you wish to make a major change in concept, genre, style, or theme, you must first inform the Show Committee and receive approval for the new changes. Pieces are chosen based on the initial information given, and we strongly encourage you to stick with the idea with which you apply.
*Depending on submissions received, piece length, solos, duets, and trios may be limited. You may be asked to adjust your piece accordingly.
Important Dates (Mandatory):
Choreographer Meetings (All choreographers must attend ONE IN-PERSON MEETING): Thursday March 26th 6-7pm, or Sunday March 29th 2-3pm
Staging Rehearsal: August 16th
Tech Rehearsals: Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th - time slots TBD
Dress Rehearsal: Friday, August 28th - Evening
Shows: Saturday, August 29th, Matinee & Evening Performances
