Delano Manongs Tour 2017
On September 9th, 1965, Filipino farmworkers of the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee dropped the grapes they picked for abusive employers and walked out of the fields. Instead of dropping the grapes packaged in boxes, they dropped them right on the ground so their employers wouldn't be able to salvage them for profit. The National Farmworkers Association, led by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, eventually joined the strike, coalescing to become the United Farm Workers. On September 9th this year we'll be visiting the fields where the strike began and eventually created the US's federal labor laws.
