The Islamic Center at NYU will be celebrating the Day of 'Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, on Friday, October 3rd, and Eid ul-Adha, the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, on Saturday, October 4th.
We will be hosting Iftar on the Day of 'Arafah following Maghrib Prayers in the IC Prayer Room in addition to rooms 475 and 461 located on the 4th floor of NYU's Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life located at 238 Thompson Street, NY, NY 10012. We encourage you to coordinate iftars amongst on your own for the other nights of the first days of Dhul Hijjah.
Eid prayers will begin at 9:00am and will be immediately followed by a community brunch. Guests will be allowed to arrive from 8:30am onwards.
Eid prayers will be held in the E&L auditorium located on the 4th floor of NYU's Kimmel Center at 60 Washington Square South. Please have a valid ID card to enter the building. Should the need arise, we will be livestreaming the service to our 4th floor spaces as well to accommodate everyone. Space in E&L will be first-come, first serve. Please try to bring a Prayer Mat or sheet with you to sit on.
The IC is partnering with Islamic Relief, SMILE, and Honest Chops this year on an Udhiya program to provide food to 200 local families in need. If you have not done so already, please consider reserving your Udhiya with us at http://honestchops.com/udhiya/. The deadline to make a reservation is this Monday, September 29th, by midnight.
Our programs, including these, are run completely on donations and, as such, we rely heavily on the generosity of the community to provide the services that we do. Please consider making an online tax-deductible contribution today to help support the cost at https://www.nyu.edu/giving/give-now/?cid=25
