Thank you for your interest in the Fall 2026 cohort of Girl Security National Fellows! This program is designed as a 100% virtual training that provides workforce development and an immersive learning experience to explore the content and skills that are critically necessary in addressing the future challenges facing the national security field.
No experience in security studies is required, though an interest in the field is a must.
Our adjunct faculty include women and gender minority leaders and experts across a broad spectrum of government and private sectors.
Fellows who successfully complete the program will earn a certificate of completion, a lifetime membership to the Girl Security Alumni Network (where ongoing professional development, networking, and leadership opportunities will be provided), and pathway opportunities with corporate sponsors including scholarships to complete Google’s Cybersecurity and AI Certification Certificate.
Requirements
The National Fellows aims to support individuals who are making decisive moves about what direction they would like to take on their career preparation pathway.
Girl, woman, or gender minority
11th grade of high school through the first or second year out of college (exceptional 10th grade applications considered!)
No older than 21 years of age
Have not already participated as a Girl Security National Fellow
US Citizen or permanent resident
Dates & Time Commitment
Application Opens: Monday, August 31st, 2026
Application Deadline: Friday, September 18th, 2026
Fellows Announced: On a rolling basis until seats are filled!
Time Commitment: The program runs in 2-week modules, as follows:
Week 1 | Asynchronous Seminar Lectures: Complete on your own time, reviews key concepts and relevant content (1-hour)
Week 2 | Synchronous Workshop Meetings: Live Zoom sessions that engage the entire cohort in applied learning exercises to build key skills and develop community learning (2-hours)
