Following the shooting deaths of 17 students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last month, a national debate is underway over pros and cons of arming teachers, coaches, administrators and other adults in schools. Teachers and others in some parts of the country, primarily rural, are already carrying guns in some schools. A Telegram & Gazette survey of police chiefs in Central Massachusetts found the majority would not endorse it, but two said they were in favor or wouldn't oppose it.
