Course Objectives:
At the end of this training, participants will able to:
1. Identify ergonomics risk factors and conduct ergonomics risk factors assessment
2. Understand Musculoskeletal Disorders, the symptoms and signs, and conduct
musculoskeletal assessment
3. Report and present the findings to the stakeholder

1. Part 1: Introduction to Initial ERA
a. Introduction to Ergonomics
b. Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs):
Health effect due to exposures to ergonomics risk factors
c. Sign and symptoms of WMSDs
d. Ergonomics Risk Factors
e. Initial ERA
i. Process of conducting Initial ERA

• Initiating ERA
- Self-assessment form by employee – Appendix 1
- Walkthrough inspection
- Review of records
- Musculoskeletal pain and discomfort complaint form -
Appendix 2
- Request by OHD or DOSH

• Level 1 ERA
- Musculoskeletal assessment
- Ergonomics risk factors assessment (ergonomics checklist)
