Big Bear Junior Counselor Application
All students who wish to participate in the Big Bear/Camp Artemis Junior Counselor (JC) program must submit the following application. Please make your answers as complete as possible. Providing more information will help us to make a determination whether the JC program is a good fit for you. The deadline for applications is March 15th. If you are accepted into the program we will contact you after the deadline with instructions to enroll. Spaces are limited and not all qualified applicants will be accepted.

Job Description
The Big Bear and Camp Artemis Junior Counselor program is designed for students who wish to challenge themselves to grow as nature mentors and gain real life leadership experience. The JC program is a natural extension of the CIT program that exists for day camps but is a higher level of learning and commitment. Junior Counselors will arrive at camp early for camp along with the staff and will participate in special training activities before campers arrive. Duties and expectations include:

+Demonstrate camp values and culture at all times
+Practice Coyote Mentoring in supporting campers learning and growth
+Role model an attitude of curiosity and personal growth for campers
+Supervise campers during certain activities
+Assist instructors in teaching skills at camp
+Meet daily with Assistant Camp Director to discuss camp needs
