Advocacy
To improve oral health of the children of Washington State and position pediatric dentists as the most credible resource for educating decision-makers about pediatric oral health in Washington State.
11. We currently fund sponsorships for Washington State Pediatric Dental Residents to attend the Pediatric Oral Health Advocacy Conference (POHAC) in Washington D.C. Traditionally we have supported 2 or 3 residents based on qualifications and funds. Would you like WSAPD to invest additional funds to send more residents to POHAC? *

WSAPD is classified as a 501(c)(3), which limits our ability to lobby to approximately 5% of our organization's "time and effort". Applying for reclassification or adding an additional entity categorized as a 501(c)(6) organization would enable us to increase lobbying efforts but would involve modification of our articles of incorporation and significant effort in restructuring our organization. Would you like the WSAPD Board to develop a potential plan for adding/becoming a 501(c)(6) to present to members at the next Annual Business Meeting?

We are seeking members to develop an Investment Policy Statement outlining our investment goals, risk tolerance, time horizon, and liquidity needs. This document will help ensure a disciplined approach to investing and provides guidance as board members change.
