YWCA Cambridge: Girls Only Leadership Program (GOLD)
Overview: GOLD is a free weekly after-school program for youth ages 12-17, focusing on leadership skills and conversations around friendship, identity, self-love, and activism. Each session includes fun games, community action projects, and thoughtful discussions on topics like school, girlhood, gender in society, mental health, social media, and more.
Youth participants help plan and lead our weekly activities. We go on different field trips around Cambridge, play games, and build connections through meaningful conversations. Most importantly, we're excited to find fun and creative ways to get to know each other and grow together.
High school particapants have the oppurtunity to serve as peer mentors, helping to lead sessions, design activities, serve as positive role models, and strengthen their own leadership skills in the process.
