More Than Walking - Peer Mentoring Request
More Than Walking can help provide 1-1 peer mentoring so that everyone impacted by spinal cord injury knows they are not alone and has access to a knowledgeable support team member. In addition to this, we can also assist in finding local resources to be of service to you and your SCI needs. As an organization run by individuals with SCI, our desire to “share the path to independence after spinal cord injury” isn’t merely a statement but a heartfelt connection with our community because we are going through a similar experience. However, More Than Walking does NOT train nor certify any of its peer mentors. Peer mentorship is completely voluntary and the relationship that is established is solely up to the mentor and mentee to continue at their discretion and availability. If you are looking for direct funding to purchase supplies, pay for hospital bills, or medical equipment, please fill out a help request so we can help in the search for appropriate community resources. However, More Than Walking does NOT guarantee that we will be able to provide aid in these matters.
