The sixth annual ReadOut LGBTQ Literature Festival will be held February 17- 19, 2023, live in Gulfport (FL), as well as virtually on Zoom.
ReadOut 2023 celebrates published and emerging* authors from across the LGBTQ+ community with panels, individual readings and workshops. Presentations may be on-site, live streamed or prerecorded.
If you are a published author or your first book is coming out in 2023, and you would like to participate in ReadOut 2023 please complete the form below. Deadline for submissions is December 15, 2022. Authors will be notified of their acceptance to the festival by December 31, 2022.
We are currently looking for readings, panels and workshops by, for or about LGBTQ+ topics to highlight for ReadOut 2023. Program options include:
- Panels (2-5 authors coming together to discuss a specific theme, 60 min) Example from 2022, “The Secret Lives of Historical Novelists,” Ellen Levy and Elena Graf
- Author Readings (5-7 minute readings from an author’s original work. Accepted presentations may be presented on-site, live streamed and/or prerecorded) Readings will be combined into 1-hour segments.
- Workshops (usually 1-2 presenters and educational, 60 min) Example from 2022, “Character, not Caricature: Writing People Who are Not Like You,” presented by Cheryl A Head
